VESSEL NAMED ‘GIRANDE ITALIA’ HAS BEEN SALVED

 

On 09.06.2016 at 22:50 p.m. 176 meter-long Italy flagged vessel named GIRANDE ITALIA loaded with 8 vehicles was exposed to a sea peril by drifting due to engine failure  after turning around Nara cape during her passage through Çanakkale Strait in South-North direction,


In order to provide the safety of navigation, life, property and protect environment, KURTARMA-5 tug boat was immediately sent to the place of incident by our organization, As a result of salvage service, the GIRANDE ITALIA vessel was secured and anchored off Saltık Cape on 10.06.2016 at 01.05 a.m.


No pollution or loss of life reported.
