ESTABLISHMENT:

It has been published on the gazette 24150 numbered and 24.08.2000 dated by resolution of cabinet decision 12.07.2000 dated and 2000/1052 numbered which was entitling to General Directorate of Coastal Safety and Salvage Administrations to be a partner of firms established or to establish companies in Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus if necessary and to establish necessary branch offices and stations in Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus within the implementation of “Agreement on Search and Rescue at sea” made between Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and Turkish Republic by resolution of cabinet decision 17.07.1997 dated and 97/9657 numbered.


A company named “Cyprus Turkish coastal safety and salvage limited company” has been established centrally in Girne with the capital of 100 billion Turkish Liras by participation of Administration in proportion as 69.9% , Community of Cyprus Turkish Consolidated Fund Development Treasure’s Office in Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in proportion as 30% and Undersecretariat of Turkish Maritime in proportion as 0.1%. The main statute of the company established was registered in accordance with the regulations of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and the company went into the operation by holding the first board meeting on 15.01.2001.


The center and General Directorate of the company is in Girne and Gazimagusa appurtenant to the Directorate has been using as a SAR station( emergency response station) .


The capital partners of the company are between ; T.C Prime Ministry Undersecretariat of Maritime, T.C Ministry of Transport, General Directorate of Coastal Safety and Salvage Administrations, Community of Turkish Cyprus Consolidated Fund and Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Development Treasure’s Office.


The range of activities of company are not only meeting the national necessity but also the necessities that are required and recommended by the international maritime associations such as IMO from the coastal states.
