VESSELS NAMED SIDER CAPRI AND GRANDE ANVERSA COLLIDED |

Italian flagged vessel named “GRANDE ANVERSA” carrying 2614 vehicles which was proceeding to pilot boarding area to take the pilot from South to North direction collided with 99,51 meter long, Malta flagged vessel named “SIDER CAPRI” loaded with 3950 m/ton barley at southern entrance of Çanakkale Strait, despite all warnings given by Sector Kumkale.
In order to provide the safety of navigation, life, property and protect environment, our Kurtarma 4 tugboat and Kıyı Emniyeti 9 SAR boat were immediately sent to the place of incident by our organization. Both vessels were headed to Karanlık Port mooring area with pilots on board.
No pollution or loss of life reported but both vessels suffered damage due to the friction.
