VESSEL NAMED CERENCAN WHICH SUFFERED RUDDER FAILURE HAS BEEN SALVED​

 

On 18.08.2016 at 04:42 a.m. Sierra Leone flagged, 114 meter long vessel named “CERENCAN” which is loaded with 3047 MTON pea reported that she has suffered rudder failure in front of Tarabya while passing through Istanbul Strait from North to South Direction.

 

In order to provide the safety of navigation, life, property and protect environment, our Kurtarma 3 tugboat was immediately sent to the place of incident by the Istanbul Vessel Traffic Services.

 

As a result of the salvage operation given by Kurtarma 3 tugboat as of 05:03 a.m., causality vessel was safely anchored to Büyükdere mooring berth at 05:50 a.m.

 

No pollution or loss of life reported.
