VESSEL NAMED HELGA HAS BEEN SALVED

 

On 18.07.2016 at 10:20 a.m. 78.7-meter-long Moldovan flagged vessel named “HELGA” laden with Magnesite exposed to a sea peril in front of the Maiden Tower by drifting due to the rudder failure while passing through Istanbul Strait from South to North direction.

 

In order to provide the safety of navigation, life, property and protect environment, our Kurtarma 3 tugboat and KIYEM 3 SAR boat were immediately sent to the place of incident by Istanbul Vessel Traffic Services.

 

As a result of salvage service rendered by Kurtarma 3 tugboat, casualty vessel was secured and anchored to Ahırkapı A mooring area at 11:20 a.m..

 

No pollution or loss of life reported.
